Meet our first cohort
Maggie is a lifelong resident of Virginia and a future double graduate of UVa, with degrees in American Studies and a JD, with the hope of starting a career as a civil rights attorney.
Jackie is a retired Episcopal priest, former educator, and lifelong peacemaker living in Southern Ohio.
Jenny has a passion for international human rights issues and received her JD from the Howard University School of Law. Originally from the West Coast, Jenny now lives and works in Washington, D.C.
Jen is a former Director, Assistant Secretary, and Associate Counsel for a Fortune 100 subsidiary, and is the founder of the fair trade company, Cultivated Community.
Lynne is a semi-retired musician now based in Irvine, California, where she teaches private music lessons, works with refugee resettlement through Home for Refugees, and engages in racial reconciliation and justice through Canvas Presbyterian.
Josh is an immigration attorney specializing in protecting at-risk residents from deportation. He attends Central Christian Church and has served with various ministries, including helping to settle Syrian families in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Lynn Dugan is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and Chef from the Chicago area balancing her passion for teaching and cooking with the recent launch of a Peace Building & Justice team at her church.
Buz lives in Arlington VA and is a voiceover artist and tour guide. He is a two-time Telos trip alum, going on trips to Israel/Palestine and the U.S. South.
Beth Shadid is a homemaker, nurse, community volunteer, passionate learner and peacemaker based in Chicago, IL. She has attended Telos trips to Israel/Palestine and the U.S. South.
Stephen is Director of the Friends of Taghyeer Movement which supports and partners with the Taghyeer (Change) Palestinian National Nonviolence Movement. Stephen has created public conversations and programs on communities and cultures in conflict for the past 20 years.
Carole earned a B.A. in Marketing and lives in a suburb of Chicago, working as a homemaker and passionate volunteer in peacemaking. She bases her work on the Christian call to peacemaking and loving one’s neighbor.
Shiri grew up in Southern California and now works for a local church, overseeing an affordable housing initiative focused on equipping faith communities to pursue housing justice. Shiri is a dual citizen of the United States and Israel and previously led a trip with Telos in 2019.
Derry is from the Bay Area and is a semi-retired massage therapist. She is passionate about people, traveling, and other cultures, and hopes to become a person of deeper faith and an active peacemaker.
