After years of planning, we are delighted to launch our Mosaic Peacemaking Program this fall! Our initial Mosaic cohort includes 13 church leaders from eight churches across the United States, representing a variety of denominations, regions, and local contexts. These church leaders are united in their commitment to participate in a multi-year peacemaking journey with the goal of launching innovative peacemaking initiatives in their communities. 

In its first year, Mosaic program participants will engage in monthly virtual calls with scholar-practitioners such as Rev. Dr. Michael Battle on Ubuntu Theology, Patty Krewac on Indigenous History, and Soong-Chan Rah on Prophetic Lament. Together we will explore  pressing issues including the gospel and race, immigration, Palestine-Israel conflict, moving from contemplation to action, and more. These monthly seminar calls will be supplemented with two peacemaking pilgrimages: to the US South in October and to Ireland/Northern Ireland in late February–early March. At the end of Year 1, participants will be asked to present on their learnings with one another on a retreat, culminating in our Christian Leaders’ Gathering in D.C. next June. 

In Year 2, our participants will begin inviting their congregations into this learning, implementing peacemaking initiatives in their local community, based on their Year 1 learnings, with Telos’s ongoing support. 

We firmly believe that God’s promised peace, rooted in the Christ event, finds its fulfillment with the collaboration of gospel-shaped communities. Simply stated, the eschatological promise of peace will involve you, here and now. Thank you for joining us in active commitment to a gospel that necessarily involves all of us working together to recognize, be honest about, and begin to address divisions and wounds wherever they exist.
